Theta Chapter

In the early 90's Gloria Jimenez saw the need for a sorority that reflected the needs of latina women at the University of Houston. Embraced by the vision that our four founders had for sisterhood, she chose to bring Kappa Delta Chi to campus and begin a legacy would withstand through the years. On December 15th of 1993, the establishment of the Theta Chapter was a historical addition to our ever growing and diverse university.

It is now 2007, and the tradition still lives on stronger than ever! After 14 years, the pride that Theta Chapter feels for all its accomplishments is transmitted through out our sisters and entities. Our beginnings tell the trials that our Charter members endured in order to establish the foundation that we enjoy to this very day. This new generation of Cougar KDChi's, now a decade strong, would like to thank those 10 incredible women who envisioned the success that KDChi has become. We have grown into a diverse sorority in every aspect, but our mission was, is, and will always remain clear: to help the community.

Here at the Theta Chapter we're preparing for a new phase in our sisterhood's life. It is a year of reinvention; a year in which cycles close, and a year in which the possibilities become endless. We've reset priorities and reevaluated characteristics within ourselves to continue as the top Latina Sorority on this campus. Understanding that change equals growth is key to the success of our evolution... Ready to set out on new endeavors, Theta can proudly say that every step in our path has been a significant milestone. With a strong desire to grow and make an everlasting impact, we welcome challenges, and embrace the diversity of our sisterhood.
